We introduce the B-east pack to follow up with the Spring Training pack we drop earlier this summer. The B-east pack reflect teams such as the Phillies, Yankees, Boston and a all black on black A-YO for the uptown cats. A-Yo is a design that reflects the AYA Hi upside down. In4mation get together with Habitat Skateboards and release a Hawaii pack with a shoe, tee, hat and skateboard deck. Along with the package the In4mation crew gets together on a sunday fun day out producing this video.

Hurley presents The Surf N Sea Haleiwa International Open
December 21, 2010 – January 2, 2011

The Friends of Alii Beach is proud to announce the addition of Hurley as the new presenting sponsor of the 41st Annual Surf N Sea Haleiwa International Open! This special event began back in 1969 as a goodwill surfing event to promote proper sportsmanship and Aloha of sharing waves between the traveling Japanese surfers and locals from Haleiwa.

The Haleiwa International Open showcases 12 divisions for guys and girls of all ages in both shortboard and longboard disciplines and a specialty event for the Japanese surfers whom are members of the JPSA. Along with competitors from Japan we always have surfers from Australia, Europe, Brazil, South Africa and the East and West coasts of the US. The HIO is the only amateur event with a 12 day waiting period with the 4 best days used for competition.

This is a big wave amateur surfing event and has been run in 8-12 foot wave conditions in years past. It’s great to see so many hungry competitors who wait a whole year to get into competitive conditions that this event has to offer. A combination of the camaraderie of the competitors and spectacular wave conditions is what make this event so fun!

The Haleiwa International Open carries so much pride and its such an honor to have a brand like Hurley to add their support for this contest! This year two special awards of the “Hurley True Performance Award” and the “Joel Centeio Sportsmanship Award” which will be hand picked by Joel Centeio for outstanding surfing and spreading of the Aloha spirit.

Now 41 years later the legacy of this event lives strong and will continue to do so with the support of Hurley, Surf N Sea, JPSA, Vitamin Water, Matsumoto’s Shave Ice, ASP Hawaii, Vertra and the Friends of Alii Beach. Proceeds from this event help support the Haleiwa Menehune Surfing Championships.
