The skateboarding industry in Quebec has changed a lot since I was young little skater who’d skate for hours and hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The majority of the new generation of skaters may not know how our industry was built and how it evolved, so here’s a little history lesson to enlighten you.
Few are the pioneers of skateboarding in Quebec that launched businesses and can manage to make a living from it; I can count them on the fingers of my hand, but Raj Mehra is one of them! Originally from the West Island of Montreal, Pointe Claire specifically, he was noticed during the ‘90s for his undeniable talent as a street skater and his technical skills on a mini-ramp. (He also skated vert with a young prodigy now known as PLG.) Raj’s natural style and fluidity makes him a sick overall skater who will still amaze you to this day, and he is definitely one of the most important pillars of the Quebec skate scene.
Raj Mehra holds it down!
After many years of learning the business as a brand manager at Caccia for Zoo York Canada, Raj made the decision to start his own distribution company called Mehrathon Trading in 2007.
Mehrathon is part of the new generation of distributors who understands today’s market — and Raj can relate to (and understand) his customers because he’s a skater himself. Whether he’s building his own booth for a trade show in Vancouver or driving to the Maritimes with his team for a competition, he always goes the extra mile to ensure things are done the proper way. And now with “Uncle Sam” as a partner in crime, you can be sure that things will only get better!

Over the past three years Mehrathon Trading has become the exclusive Canadian distributor of an amazing assortment of brands, including Deathwish skateboards, Shake Junt, Zoo York skateboards, Shut skateboards, Brigada eyewear, Alphanumeric, In4mation, Fuct, Mighty Healthy, UXA, and Quintin. You can check out www.mehrathon.com for mor information, and don’t forget the fact that Mehrathon is operated by skaters for skaters, so they know what the deal is!
